Experienced Support for Seniors and CaregiversHello, I’m Brendan Storey, a licensed social worker dedicated to supporting seniors and their families through life’s challenges. With years of experience in mental health and aging, I understand how difficult transitions can be and the impact they have on individuals and their loved ones. My role is to provide guidance, practical strategies, and emotional support to help you navigate these changes with confidence.
My ApproachAging affects every person differently, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. I take a personalized, compassionate and practical approach to counselling, ensuring that your concerns and goals shape our work together. Whether you are facing anxiety, grief, health-related changes, or caregiving stress, we will focus on what matters most to you and develop strategies that make a meaningful difference in your daily life.
Aging can also bring a complex mix of emotions for anyone—questions about identity, purpose, and the impact of physical changes are common. For some, these experiences can feel unfamiliar, vulnerable or even overwhelming. I take an interest in helping my clients explore these changes with curiosity, resilience, and confidence. We focus on what matters most to you, building on your strengths to navigate life’s challenges with clarity and purpose. Why I Do This WorkSeniors and caregivers often feel overlooked or unsure where to turn for support. I started Thrive Atlantic Counselling because I believe in meeting people where they are—both emotionally and physically. My mobile counselling service removes barriers to care, making it easier to get the support you need without added stress.
Let’s Work TogetherIf you or a loved one are feeling overwhelmed by the challenges of aging, I am here to help. Reach out today to learn more about how we can work together to build a plan that supports your well-being and peace of mind.

I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Wilfrid Laurier University and am registered in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers and Canadian Association of Social Workers. I have extensive experience in mental health support for seniors and caregivers across New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Ontario. My career has taken me through a range of healthcare settings, including hospitals, long term care facilities, outpatient clinics, and community-based programs, where I have worked closely with individuals and families adjusting to age-related challenges.
My work has included supporting seniors with depression, anxiety, and cognitive changes, as well as guiding families through the complexities of aging in place, long-term care planning and navigating healthcare systems. I also specialize in supporting individuals and families affected by neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, Lewy Body Dementia, and Frontotemporal Dementia. I help clients adapt to changes, access resources, and maintain the best possible quality of life as they navigate the challenges that come with these conditions. These experiences have deepened my commitment to ensuring that seniors and caregivers feel supported, informed, and empowered. |
